About Karin
Welcome to Karin Clark Communications
Why the Name “Karin Clark Communications” if it’s counseling?
When Karin was starting her practice in the late 80’s, she asked herself what she wanted it to convey to potential clients. The answer was that she wanted people she would be privileged enough to work with to get to the place in their lives where they felt comfortable and confident communicating with themselves internally – feeling and accepting their emotional experiences and history – and externally – feeling clear and calm as they communicated and connected with others in their lives. Add in a little alliteration and voila! Karin Clark Communications was born!

My Story
Greetings! I’m Karin, a fourth-generation native of the San Francisco Bay Area, where my roots run deep, and the vibrant culture has shaped my perspective on life. I embarked on my academic journey at UC Berkeley, where I pursued a double major in English and Sociology during my undergraduate studies.
Fueling my passion for education, I continued my academic pursuits at UC Berkeley, earning a graduate degree in Secondary Education. This experience deepened my understanding of the transformative power of learning and laid the foundation for my commitment to helping others navigate their own paths toward personal growth and fulfillment.
Ultimately, while I loved elements of teaching high school (I taught Continuation High School in Oakland for seven years early on), I recognized I was more passionate about my students circumstances and well-being. I returned to school at John F. Kennedy University where I got my Master’s in Transpersonal Psychology. I have worked in the realm of counseling and education ever since, in a variety of iterations and capacities.
My professional journey has led me to a profound calling – working with individuals ready to explore patterns, trauma, and those persistent “stuck” feelings that can hinder personal development. My approach is rooted in fostering compassionate care for the self, cultivating healthy relationships, and crafting a vibrant and sustainable work life.
I am dedicated to guiding my clients through the exploration of their personal histories, helping them unravel the intricacies of their experiences. Together, we embark on a journey to create a life marked by resilience, understanding, and a deep sense of fulfillment.
Join me in this transformative process, and let’s build a foundation for a life that resonates with compassionate self-care, meaningful connections, and a work life that is both vibrant and sustainable.
As mentioned above, Karin is currently studying and will soon be certified in “Brainspotting.” It is a powerful tool for trauma, including CPTSD. Like the next generation of EMDR! Check out the video below to learn more.
